Innovative government service in the world

Innovative government services represent a qualitative shift in the way governments interact with their citizens, leveraging advanced technology to deliver more efficient, transparent, and easy-to-use services. These services include the use of artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, and big data analysis to simplify procedures, automate processes, and provide personalized services to citizens. Digital platforms and smart applications also allow citizens to access government services anytime, anywhere, enhancing their satisfaction and engagement. Innovative government services aim to improve quality of life, enhance transparency, reduce costs, and build smarter governments that are more responsive to citizens’ needs.

Example 1: Visual distortion monitoring service using drones and artificial intelligence (Al-Madinah Region Municipality)

This service relies on the use of drones equipped with high-resolution cameras to collect images and videos of the city, and this data is then analyzed using artificial intelligence to identify visual distortion sites, such as distorted graffiti and illegal advertisements. The innovation lies in using artificial intelligence to analyze large amounts of visual data quickly and accurately, and automatically identify visual distortion sites, saving time and effort for observers. The use of drones also allows for effective coverage of large areas of the city. The Municipality of Madinah Region won the GCC Digital Government Award in the category of “Best Use of Artificial Intelligence in Government Services” for this innovative service.

Example 2: Smart Monitoring System for Rainwater Drainage Networks (Madinah Region Municipality)

This system aims to enhance the quality of life by managing digital systems for rainwater drainage networks. The system relies on the use of sensors and sensors to monitor the condition of the networks, and collect data related to the amount of rainfall and the height of water levels in valleys. This data is analyzed using artificial intelligence to predict flood risks and take the necessary measures to avoid them. The innovation lies in using artificial intelligence to analyze data in real time and predict flood risks before they occur, which enables the relevant authorities to take the necessary preventive measures, such as opening dam gates and directing maintenance teams. The system also provides accurate information to the public about the condition of rainwater drainage networks, helping them take the necessary precautions. The Municipality of Madinah Region won the Communications, Space and Technology Commission Award for Collaborative Innovation for this important project.
